Wanting  to convey true Japanese atmosphere and appearance...

In Japan there are numerous traditional craftworks which are still being handed down from person to person today. The tools passed down from the generations of old are not only easy to use, but also have a sense of beauty that is born from the pursuit of convenience.

There also exists a particular color-matching scheme in Japan, with each scheme having a specific meaning and role. Sadly, craftwork found abroad that is labelled as “authentic Japanese work” often leave people disappointed as they do not reflect Japanese culture whatsoever.

With the storong desire to convey true Japanese atmosphere and appearance,Iuse traditional materials such as “washi” (traditional Japanese paper), “kinpaku” (gold leaf, or gold foil), and “iwa enogu”(natural paint made from mineral pigments commonly used in “nihonga”, or Japanese paintings) to make each “Shiki” (craftedpaper boxes) of different shapes and sizes. All of my work iscarefully handcrafted.
